Zero Fatalities and Safe Routes Utah are UDOT and DPS programs that are dedicated to saving lives on Utah Roads. We reach thousands of students across the state each year, from urban classrooms to rural communities, fostering a culture of safety on our roads. By providing free, engaging educational presentations to elementary, middle, and high schools across the state, we aim to provide students with the knowledge and habits they need to stay safe.

PARENT-TEEN NIGHT: HIGH SCHOOL
A 60-minute session tackling the leading causes of road fatalities among teens and how to avoid risky behaviors. We also share resources to help parents teach their teens to drive responsibly while highlighting essential graduated driver licensing laws.

TRUCK SMART: DRIVING AROUND SEMI-TRUCKS
Separate in-class presentations explore the unique challenges of sharing the road with semi-trucks, including their blind spots, stopping distances, and operational needs.

Pre-Driver: Middle Schools 

A presentation covering seat belt safety, the dangers of speeding and distracted driving, how to get a learner permit, and be a helpful passenger. Parents can also access free resources to guide their teens through this critical learning stage.
